Wish List Wednesday: Batman and The Joker

Batman and Robin Converse ($59.99)

Journeys sells a line of D.C. character converse.  While I am always in the market for new shoes, I rarely buy them at full price.  Add to the fact that theme shoes like these would not match most of my apparel, I don't know if I could really justify spending my own money.  That doesn't change the fact that I do plan to save up and one day own at least one pair, if not all three!

The Joker Converse ($59.99)

Harley Quinn Converse ($59.99)

Name That Tune Tuesday: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

This opening sums up Fullmetal Alchemist quite nicely, both versions.  The song is pretty nice, in general, but I really like how Winry's lips sync at times.  Just curious, which FMA do you prefer?  The first anime or Brotherhood, and why?

I have to say, I was rather amused to see Aquaman's shoes at such a discount compared to the other D.C. characters.

Wish List Wednesday: tokidoki x Ju-Ju-Be

tokidoki diaper bags from Ju-Ju-Be

I have always had to been a little frugal with my spending.  That goes double now that I am a new mom, which isn't easy.  Baby stuff gets pretty expensive, and double so if you want something designer.  But if I were to come into money, I know what one of my first big splurges would be. Some of the tokidoki x Ju-Ju-Be items.  Ju-Ju-Be is basically a high end diaper bag company that has been expanding themselves into a way of life.  Normally it isn't the kind of thing I would fawn over, but I do really love tokidoki.

The Be Prepared bag in TD Dreams ($188)
The diaper bag I would like from the collection is called Be Prepared.  This bag touts itself as being perfect for twins, overnight trips, and plan rides.  Basically, any event that requires you to really stock up.  Despite only having one child and not in the habit of taking frequent flights with baby, I feel this particular bag would be the best of the bunch for me.  Carrying a diaper bag and a purse is a bit of a hassle.  My current diaper bag is an amazing diaper bag, but it really can't fit more than the very basics from my purse when fully stocked for baby.  I need a large bag that can consolidate my diaper bag and purse without being crammed.

The tokidoki Changing Pad in TD Dreams ($20)
I would not be able to stop with just the diaper bag.  Since it is my fantasy splurge, I would need to get the matching accessories as well. . . starting with the changing pad that is pictured above.

The Be Neat bib in TD Dreams ($22)

The Paci Pod in TD Dreams ($18)

The Fuel Cell (lunch box/bottle cooler) in TD Dreams ($28)

Name That Tune Tuesday: Golden Girls

Golden Girls has a special place in my heart.  It reminds me of both my grandmother and my roommate in Seattle.  They both loved the show.  My grandmother probably loved it because she was also an old lady in Florida, making her closer to the original target audience... Whenever I hear the theme song I am reminded of chilling with my roomie in Seattle, even now.  The show has been playing a ton on Nick at Nite lately and I find myself watching for the nostalgia.

Photo Friday: Tow Mater

A real life Tow Mater
This picture was taken outside a McDonald's in Yorktown, Virginia.  If you don't recognize it, the tow truck is dressed up as Tow Mater from the movie Cars.  What really cracks me up is that this is the second time I have seen this tow truck.  The first time was a few months back, parked at the William and Mary bookstore in Williamsburg.

Name That Tune Tuesday: Sword Art Online Theme- Crossing Field (English Dub)

I am going to take this opportunity to recommend and amazing anime, Sword Art Online.  Crossing Field is the opening theme for the first half of the season.  Yes, the theme is the same in English and Japanese, just the language difference.  Sword Art Online is about a Virtual Reality MMORPG that traps the players inside.  If you die in the game, then you die in real life.  The show is only one season, but that season is split into two games.  The first is your more traditional MMORPG that has knights, dragons, and taverns that look like they are out of old Europe/Asia.  The second half has a fairy theme.  I will be honest, the second have kind of loses focus for a bit.  It has a completely different feel because the stakes are not as high in the fairy game.  You do need to watch the whole thing to get a sense of completion, and the ending is very worth it.  I admit that I may be biased because I am so heavily involved in an MMORPG, but I really think everyone should give this show a chance.  If you want to know more, then you can check it out on Hulu.
